Please call the office at 324-1410 when your child will be absent or tardy. We are required to contact parents/guardians of any student that is marked absent. Voice messages left with teachers may not be heard until later in the day.

Cash or checks can be turned in to the office each morning. For parents that use the Mealtime online system there will be a small processing charge. This is a management fee from Mealtime, not Helena Public School.
The Lost and Found is located in the east hallway outside the gym/cafeteria. Periodically we will donate all unclaimed items to charity. Please label all possessions your child brings to school. This will especially help us identify lost clothing.
In order to ensure the safety of the child who is taking the medicine, we are not permitted to give students medication at school without a signed authorization form from both the physician and parent. These forms are available in the office as well as at most doctor’s offices.
Invitations to student birthday parties may only be passed out at school if ALL classmates are invited. Hurt feeling result when some children are excluded. Thanks for understanding.
School staff are on duty outside at 7:45 am each school day. Students are expected to go to the playground before school starts at 8:30 am.
Students go outside for recess unless the temperature is below zero. Please send your child with the appropriate clothing. We also suggest you send an extra set of clothes in your student’s backpack, if you think they might get wet or muddy at recess.
Popsicles or popcorn are sold for $0.50 during the last recess on Friday afternoons as a special treat.
PTO planning meetings are the first Tuesday of the month in the Para Workroom next to the office. Everyone is encouraged to attend. Childcare is provided. Check out the PTO webpage for more information.
