Welcome to First Grade!! This is going to be an exciting year! I’m looking forward to getting to know you and helping your children grow! We are going to have a great time learning together.
A little bit about me…I was born and raised in Helena and have lived in Montana my entire life. I received my Elementary Education degree at Montana State University-Bozeman. This will be my 5th year teaching at Jim Darcy. My first 3 years of teaching were in Kindergarten. I enjoy the outdoors and traveling any chance I get!
Please check back here for updates and feel free to contact me any time you have questions or concerns.
Students will have a home folder to bring home papers each night and this folder can be used to send notes to school as well. The folders and newsletters will keep you updated on the skills we are learning in math, as well as the weekly spelling words and high frequency sight words for your child to practice at home. I also encourage you to read with your child for 10-15 minutes each night. This makes a huge difference in their reading progress throughout the year. Students will be bringing home two readers each week for practice.
Wednesdays & Fridays – Remember to bring gym shoes
Thursdays – Remember to bring library books
Fridays – Remember to turn in Reading Homework slips.
