Welcome to First Grade!

I love teaching first graders!

Parents, I am so excited to teach your child, and I look forward to getting to know you throughout the school year.

A little bit about me: I have been teaching 1st grade at Jim Darcy since 2014 and I have also taught 3rd and 4th grades. I grew up in Bozeman, attended Carroll College, and received my masters in teaching from Gonzaga University. My husband and I have two teenage sons who are very active. We love to spend time together in the outdoors!

I will be posting updates on the Jim Darcy website, so please visit my page for classroom news and upcoming events, as well as the Jim Darcy pages for more school information.

Please feel free to contact me any time you have questions or concerns, and you are welcome to stop by our classroom anytime. Thank you to those parents who have already volunteered to help in first grade!

Students will have a home folder to bring home papers each night and this folder can be used to send notes to school as well. The folders and newsletters will keep you updated on the skills we are learning in math, as well as the weekly spelling words and sight words for your child to practice at home. I also encourage you to read with your child for 10-15 minutes each night. This makes a huge difference in their reading progress throughout the year. Students will be bringing home two readers each week for practice.

Reminders for Mrs. Bubb’s class:

Mondays – Remember library books

Wednesdays & Fridays – Remember gym shoes

Fridays – Remember to turn in Reading Homework slips.

We are going to have a great time learning together!
