Book Fair

Since our Book fair opens on Veteran’s Day, it seems like the perfect fit to have Veterans be the theme of our Book Fair!  Scholastic is sending extra Veteran books and we will be giving  raffle tickets to anyone donating new, unopened bags of coffee for the VA Hospital!  Kids can also earn raffle tickets for reading and good behavior.  The Book Fair opens November 8th and runs through the night of the 13th.  We will be open before school, after school, first recess and during conferences.  We will also be open during the Jim Darcy Holiday Bazaar on November 10th from 10 to 3.  We would love to have volunteers to help with the Book fair, so please contact the library if you are willing to volunteer!  agondeiro@helenaschools.org

Topping Out Ceremony!

Jim Darcy Community,

Jim Darcy School  will be having a “Topping Out Ceremony” on October 11th at 10:00 AM.

This will be an event for all parents, community members, and students to attend!  It is a time honored event to set one of the final beams on the project.   In building construction, topping out (sometimes referred to as topping off) is a builders’ rite traditionally held when the last beam (or its equivalent) is placed atop a structure during its construction.

All adults will be welcome to come and sign the beam prior to the event!  We will have it set up in the faculty parking lot a few days prior.  More detailed information to come.

In the spring students will all be signing the concrete floor of the gym prior to the finished floor going down.

Please come join us and stand with your student on this remarkable day!
